Tutorial: Make A Light Box

I finally decided to try making my own light box and I am SO happy I did! It made such a huge improvement in my photos. So I decided I would try to share it with you! It's really easy and completely worth it.

What you need:
Cardboard box
Tape
White Tissue Paper
White Posterboard
Box Cutter
Scissors

1. Choose a cardboard box the size that you want your light box to be.

2. Make sure the bottom flaps are taped up well. I applied a second layer off tape here.

3. Lay the box on it's side. (The bottom of the box becomes the back of your light box.)

4. Cut off the front flaps.

5. Leaving about 1 inch around the perimeter carefully cut out a square on the 2 sides and the top.
6. Cut a piece of tissue paper to fit over each of the openings you cut and tape to the edges of each side.

7. Cut the poster board to fit inside your box. This will be your backdrop. I taped the top of the poster board to the back of the box so it stays put.

8. Add light. You can put lights wherever you like. Above, or on one or both sides to create the effect you want. Just make sure not to get the light too close to the tissue paper or it will burn!

You may want to have an extra white poster board just in case one of your pets decides to climb in like my kitty did. She made a good model though.

Let me know if you try this and tell me how it comes out. I'm in love with mine!

Julie's Fudge Sampler Pack

Julie's Fudge - Mini SAMPLER Pack - 2 pieces each, 3 kinds - 1/2 Pound TotalI recieved my fudge from Jewel of the Lion back in October. A little while after telling you all about how wonderful it looked I ordered some for myself. I got the Julie's Fudge Mini Sampler pack so I could try out a few different kinds. Julie has so many different flavors and all are so different and look so tasty! I had such a hard time choosing. I ended up going with S'mores Pie with Graham Cracker Crust, Strawberry Cheesecake with Graham Cracker Crust, and Peanut Butter Cup. I'm salivating just thinking about it. They were amazing! I'm pretty picky about fudge. If it's too sweet I don't care for it but this stuff is amazing. I'm already thinking about my next order. Do yourself a favor and check out her shop.

New Blog, New Item!

I had been going back and forth between blogging and not blogging and finally decided to give it a go! I also have another announcement I am going to be making perfumes now too.

I just listed my first perfume roll on:

It is a sweet, nostalgic, relaxing blend of jasmine, orange, and sandalwood essential oils.

Here is a breakdown on the essential oils in this perfume:

Jasmine Essential Oil is uplifting and stimulating. Helping with times of hopelessness and nervous exhaustion and to reduce anxiety. It is great for dry skin AND oily skin! It can also help with eczema especially when caused by stress.

Orange Essential Oil had a sweet citrusy scent. It is used to aid in colds, constipation, dull skin, flatulence, the flu, gingivitis, slow digestion, water retention, and stress. It also encourages positive outlook.

Sandalwood Essential Oil is a rich, sweet, woody & floral scent. Sandalwood Oil is used for dry skin, laryngitis, bronchitis, oily skin, scars, sensitive skin, stress, chapped skin, and even stretch marks. In aromatherapy it is also used to help with nervous disorders, depression and anxiety.

Make sure your skin is be clean and dry when using these perfumes, so the scent doesn't mix with other odors. Pulse points such as the neck, sternum, elbow, inside of the knee or wrist are the best places to apply perfume. The increased body temperature at these pulse points improves a scent's development and longevity.
